Use the same cartridges all around so only have to stock the 45 Black and 78 Tricolor. I DON'T SEE ANY DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ANY OF THESE MODELS. The printers work fine, just like my old 960 and 952. I won both !!! $10 for a 960cxi and $50 for a 960c that came with two new cartridges,- a $60 dollar bonus that made the printer free, in my mind. The printer was plugged into a Windows 2000 machine, but was moved to another Windows 2000 machine earlier today. So, naturally, I turned here thinking I could get a quicker 'fix' to the problem. I bid on two of them, a 960c a nd a 960cxi figuring to win one quickly. I have a HP Deskjet 960c thats been giving me problems today, and HPs support e-mail takes 1-2 business days to respond. Went to retailer to buy new printer - all had expensive and TINY ink cartridges On a whim I checked on line search-engine for an HP-952 or HP-960 because they take the same ink cartridges. I had run many, many cases of paper through the machine and figured I had gotten my moneys worth long ago. While trying to free it, I tore the cable that moves with the print heads. Recently the 952 mechanism locked up tight. The removable rear panel makes clearing the rare paper jam a breeze.

Follow these steps to install the drivers in compatibility mode and check if that helps. I used to have a setup box which showed manual duplex enabled, but I cannot find it, and have no way to direct the printer to do duplex printing. They work well, fast, smooth, and can handle 60 pound card stock paper with no problem. And PhotoSmart 1200 Series printers still around for that helps. both came in a computer package deal and both worked fine. I have had a Deskjet 952c and a Deskjet 960c for 5 or 6 years.
